HKCSS Most Impactful Small and Medium-sized Non-subvented NGO Award 2019

 

The “HKCSS Most Impactful Small and Medium-sized Non-subvented NGO Award 2019” (Click here for more details) will be held to praise impactful social service organizations and those with high potential in development. Meanwhile, it also aims at expanding the network and accumulating human resources for agencies to promote organization development. Standing committees of the Council, business sector and members of foundations will be invited to be adjudicators in 3-round adjudication process of the Award Scheme and eventually ten agencies will be selected and awarded with prizes as an encouragement.

Aims

  • Encourage small and medium-sized organizations to improve their governance and service development
  • Enhance the understanding of public, donors, foundations, etc, about small and medium-sized organizations
  • Demonstrate the contribution of small and medium-sized organizations to society
  • Commend impactful and high development potential social service organizations

Eligibility

  • Agency member of The Hong Kong Council of Social Service
  • Non-profit organization which are exempt from tax under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance
  • Total annual expenditure in 2018/2019 less than HK$50 million
  • Does not receive government regular subvention* 

*Government regular subvention does not include funding for project-based services and services awarded by the way of bidding

Adjudication and Adjudicators

1st Round  – Scoring based on Agency Introduction Summary
Adjudicators: Representatives from HKCSS: Senior Management Team and Members of Standing Committees

2nd Round – Scoring based on interview presentation and reference of Agency Introduction Summary
Adjudicators: Members of foundations 

3rd Round Adjudicators – Scoring based on online agency introduction and video profile
Adjudicators: Chairpersons of government-managed fund committees, representatives of charitable foundations or family foundations, corporates and business institution, professional associations, government departments and media

Briefing Session cum Workshops

Two workshops will be held as supplementary activities, where various speakers are invited to share on the topics related to organization development. Through learning and sharing, agencies can review the retrospect and prospects of their organization development. The interactive workshops aim at providing real case sharing and tools from speakers for participants to practice and apply.

  • Please submit to Agency Introduction Summary on or before 11 October 2019 5:00 pm via email [email protected]. The Agency Introduction Summary can be downloaded in this webpage.
  • Presentation material should be submitted on or before 20 December 2019 by the selected 20 agencies for second-round adjudication in mid-January 2020. Details of presentation will be notified separately.
