Introduction

In social service sector, persons with disabilities are mainly service users. Yet, they can also be colleagues. In recent years, different organizations advocate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) as new workplace culture. Apart from common DEI practices of racial diversity and inclusion, employment of persons with disabilities also count as DEI practices. Employing persons with disabilities can not only develop diverse and inclusive workplace, but also expand the talent bank and alleviate the current situation of talent shortage.

We have invited Equal Opportunities Commission to hold the seminar on Disability Discrimination Ordinance in order to enhance participants’ understanding of the main concepts of the Ordinance, and to share how NGOs could incorporate good practices of anti-discrimination into daily operations so as to create equal employment opportunity and working environment for persons with disabilities.
