In support of the silver economy, HKCSS invites our Caring Company Scheme partners and social enterprises listed in the SE Directory to collaborate by offering various consumer discounts to the elderly, thereby jointly building an age-friendly community.

The Senior Citizen Card Scheme
The Social Welfare Department has implemented the “Senior Citizen Card Scheme” since 1994, providing Hong Kong residents aged 65 or above with a widely recognized proof of age. This enables them to enjoy concessions or discounts offered by government departments, public organizations, and businesses. Since its launch, the scheme has gained strong public and commercial support. Participating organizations span a wide range of sectors, including public transport, government departments, restaurants, legal services, clinics, banks, rehabilitation equipment, pet care, leisure and entertainment, education, tourism, and various retail businesses.

Integrating Concession Information to Reach the Elderly and Caregivers
Commissioned by the Social Welfare Department, the Council is assisting in consolidating information related to support for the elderly and caregivers, including concessions available to holders of the Senior Citizen Card and the JoyYou Card. A dedicated webpage is planned for launch in late August to facilitate easy access for the elderly, caregivers, and the general public.

We sincerely invite your business / organization / social enterprise to offer discounts or benefits to elderly persons, enabling them to enjoy more benefits and concessions in daily life. Leveraging the Council’s extensive experience from initiatives such as the Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit, Senior Citizen Day, the Caring Company Scheme, and the Social Enterprise Directory, along with our membership network and cross-sector collaboration platform, we will effectively connect businesses, the elderly, and relevant stakeholders, and promote these concessions to benefit more elderly individuals.

Participate to Promote Care and Build an Age-Friendly Community
With the continuous ageing of the population, the needs of elderly services are becoming increasingly diverse. Participation in this scheme not only demonstrates a proactive commitment to social responsibility but also helps bring different sectors together to enhance the quality of life for the elderly. By offering concessions, businesses can help foster a culture of respect, care, and support for the elderly, deepen public awareness of their needs, and promote social inclusion and mutual support—working together to build a truly age-friendly community.

Way of Participation
Interested businesses / organizations / social enterprises are invited to complete the online application form on or before 31 July 2026 (Friday) to register as participating organizations and join hands with the Council in supporting the elderly and giving back to the community. For enquiries about the scheme or application procedures, please contact the Membership Liaison and Services team at 2876 2459 or via email at [email protected].
