“Embracing the Silver Economy and Promoting Age-Friendly Communities”: Invitation for Businesses / Organizations / Social Enterprises to Offer Concessions to the Elderly

In support of the silver economy, HKCSS invites our Caring Company Scheme partners and social enterprises listed in the SE Directory to collaborate by offering various consumer discounts to the elderly, thereby jointly building an age-friendly community. The Senior Citizen Card Scheme The Social Welfare Department has implemented the “Senior Citizen Card Scheme” since 1994, providing Hong Kong residents aged 65 or above with a widely recognized proof of age. This enables them to enjoy concessions or discounts offered by government departments, public organizations, and businesses. Since its launch, the scheme has gained strong public and commercial support. Participating organizations span a wide range of sectors, including public transport, government departments, restaurants, legal services, clinics, banks, rehabilitation equipment, pet care, leisure and entertainment, education, tourism, and various retail businesses. Integrating Concession Information to Reach the Elderly and Caregivers Commissioned by the Social Welfare Department, the Council is assisting in consolidating information related to support for the elderly and caregivers, including concessions available to holders of the Senior Citizen Card and the JoyYou Card. A dedicated webpage is planned for launch in late August to facilitate easy access for the elderly, caregivers, and the general public. We sincerely invite your business ...

HKCSS Caring Company Scheme – Support Fund for Tai Po Wang Fuk Court: Invitation for Organizations to Submit Applications for Second Phase

In response to the unfortunate fire at Tai Po Wang Fuk Court on November 26, 2025, the HKCSS established the ‘Caring Company Scheme: Support Fund for Tai Po Wang Fuk Court’ the day after the incident. This fund collects donations from businesses and foundations through the Caring Company Scheme’s online fundraising platform. As of the end of February 2026, this platform has raised approximately HKD 24 million. The online fundraising platform has already stopped accepting donations. This letter aims to report to agency members on the progress of the Fund's usage and invite those interested in applying for the Fund to submit proposals. To ensure the effective use of donations, the Council established an internal review committee in December of last year to oversee the approval of proposals submitted by organizations and monitor the fund's allocation. In the first phase (the three months following the incident), our support focused on providing emergency assistance to disaster victims. Through our network, we collected nine proposals and allocated HKD 4,324,560 to nine organizations to support over 900 affected households. For further updates on the support fund's progress, please refer to the Caring Company Scheme’s website. As the emergency relief phase concludes, the Fund ...
