As announced in the 2017 Policy Address, the government will allocate resources to push ahead with primary healthcare to enhance district-based primary healthcare services. Our Council has always been concerned about primary health issues, and hopes to propose feasible service and policy recommendations of ‘social-medical collaboration’, so as to improve the overall health and disease prevention capabilities of different target groups in the community.

In order to show how various social service programmes improve the health of the community, and to promote the exchange between the government and the sector, and to explore opportunities and challenges of these currently operating primary health services, our Council is going to hold a seminar ‘Cases of Social Service on Social-medical Collaboration’, to invite representatives of local social service agencies and of the Food and Health Bureau to share service cases and methods to demonstrate ‘social-medical collaboration. The seminar will also include a panel discussion for speakers and participants exchanging ideas on the above topics.
