The Governance Connect Program provides a platform for HKCSS Agency Members and persons from various professions to meet with each other. Through the Program, participating agencies can network and connect with professionals who are passionate to serve the welfare sector, so as to strengthen their governance capacity for long-term development.

This round of the Program is partnered with PILnet, to connect HKCSS agency members with law firms providing pro bono consultation service on NGOs’ governance documents. Program details as follows:

Service Scopes (One of the Following):
1. Developing a Governance Manual (documentation of current governance structure and procedures, governance policies, and code of ethics, etc.)
2.  Reviewing and updating of agency’s Articles of Association as required (only applicable to NGOs established as limited companies)

Service Period:
Upon the first meeting and mutual agreement, the matched law firm can provide pro bono service for the NGO, lasting for around 1 to 1.5 year. Before service commences, the law firm of the pro bono lawyer will conduct a conflict check with the NGO to ensure there is no conflict of interest. During the service period, the NGO may arrange meetings with the law firm according to their agreed schedules.
