Duration the process of election, the new HKSAR Chief Executive expressed deep concern on various livelihood and welfare problems of the society.  The new administration has been initiating various ideas and programmes to address these livelihood issues, and has also been active in engaging various sectors and stakeholders to deliberate various possibilities in terms of social policy.  

       The Chief Executive is going to deliver his first Policy Address in October and we expect that some related social issues or problems will be mentioned and policy initiatives may be announced.    In view of this, we have successfully invited Mr. Chris Sun, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, to have a dialogue with our sector after the Policy Address.  We expect to discuss with him issues on poverty alleviation, care for the elderly, assistance to the frail, social welfare planning, subvention system and so on.  We hope that this can foster closer collaboration between the sector and the government for improving welfare services and the livelihood of the people.
