It is not rare for front-line workers to deal with clients with drug-abusing behaviors or involving in drug-trafficking activities. Service units may even be asked by the enforcement units to assist with investigation. In Dangerous Drugs Ordinance (Cap.134), it includes provisions relating to drug-related crime, while in the meantime, it also concerns the legal protection of the rights of drug-abusing clients. For the front-line, it is essential to grasp the legal knowledge relating to drug abuse, its legal implication for offenders, as well as the rights and obligations of workers under the provision of law, so as to provide correct information to the clients and protect their rights in a timely manner.

The council and Community Drug Advisory Council co-organize a sharing session with sharing from experienced lawyers and social worker, aiming to equip social service practitioners with knowledge of Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, sentencing and rehabilitation.
