Centre for Harmony and Enhancement of Ethnic Minority Residents

Full-time Interpreter/Translator I/Il (Priority will be given to Urdu/ Nepali/ Bahasa Indonesia)

Responsibilities:
－To provide interpretation and translation services to service users.
－To provide & support drop-in service, outreaching service and programmes.
－To back up urgent demand for interpretation service during non-operation hours.
－To network with stakeholders to promote services.
－To assist in the administrative duties of the interpretation and translation services of the Centre.

Requirements:
－Holder of bachelor degree (including university graduates from other countries, including Pakistan, India, Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam etc.)
－Interpreter/Translator I: relevant working experiences in interpretation services and ethnic minority services for at least 2 years.
－Interpreter/Translator II: relevant working experience in providing interpretation and translation services is preferred ; relevant work experience in social service setting is preferred.
－Fluent in reading, writing, speaking and listening in English.
－Fluent in reading, writing, speaking and listening in Urdu/Nepali/Bahasa Indonesia/Hindi/Tagalog/Thai/Vietnamese/Punjabi.
－Working in evenings and weekends is required.
－Employee should have not been convicted of any sexual offences, in Hong Kong or elsewhere, as specified in the Sexual Conviction Record Check Scheme
