Centre for Harmony and Enhancement of Ethnic Minority Residents

Full-time Interpreter/Translator I/Il (Priority will be given to Urdu/ Nepali/ Bahasa Indonesia)

Responsibilities:
-To provide interpretation and translation services to service users.
-To provide & support drop-in service, outreaching service and programmes.
-To back up urgent demand for interpretation service during non-operation hours.
-To network with stakeholders to promote services.
-To assist in the administrative duties of the interpretation and translation services of the Centre.

Requirements:
-Holder of bachelor degree (including university graduates from other countries, including Pakistan, India, Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam etc.)
-Interpreter/Translator I: relevant working experiences in interpretation services and ethnic minority services for at least 2 years.
-Interpreter/Translator II: relevant working experience in providing interpretation and translation services is preferred ; relevant work experience in social service setting is preferred.
-Fluent in reading, writing, speaking and listening in English.
-Fluent in reading, writing, speaking and listening in Urdu/Nepali/Bahasa Indonesia/Hindi/Tagalog/Thai/Vietnamese/Punjabi.
-Working in evenings and weekends is required.
-Employee should have not been convicted of any sexual offences, in Hong Kong or elsewhere, as specified in the Sexual Conviction Record Check Scheme
.
