With Hong Kong’s rapidly super-ageing population, the social demand for elderly care, carer support, end-of-life care, and post-death arrangements has become increasingly pressing. To encourage the public to proactively explore and plan for life, as well as to deepen understanding across different stages of life, The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) will collaborate with cross-sector stakeholders to promote the “Compassionate Festival 2026” from October 16 to November 29.

The Festival aims to unite cross-sector forces to raise public awareness of life and death education and life management by gathering and promoting a series of community activities, empowering everyone to live every stage of life with dignity.

We cordially invite agency members to participate in the Festival. If your organization has already planned or is now interested to organize community activities related to end-of-life care or life and death education during the Festival period (October 16 to November 29), and wishes to jointly promote “Compassionate Community”, please complete the attached online submission form. HKCSS will consolidate the activity list (for reference, please see the “Compassionate Fortnight 2025” activity list) and assist with public promotion.

We look forward to partnering with your organization to foster a compassionate and supportive culture and network surrounding life and death.

Should you be interested in this event, submit the online submission form (Chinese Version only) on or before September 11. For any inquiries, please contact Policy Research & Advocacy Unit (Email: [email protected]; Phone: 2864 2963).
