“HKCSS x Caring Company Scheme – Support Fund for Tai Po Wang Fuk Court”
To all Caring Companies / Caring Organisations: On 26 November, a severe fire broke out at Tai Po Wang Fuk Court, resulting in nearly 2,000 homeless families who are facing severe challenges. Immediate assistance from all sectors of society is urgently needed. This is a crucial moment for us to uphold the “Caring Company” spirit and demonstrate social responsibilities. The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) has immediately established the "HKCSS x Caring Company Scheme - Support Fund for Tai Po Wang Fuk Court", accepting donations from corporations and organisations to provide the most urgent relief to the affected families. The funds raised will focus on supporting NGOs to carry out continuous post-disaster recovery work in the community, including assisting affected residents with re-housing, providing mental health support, offering care services for the chronically ill / elderly / children, and providing support for ethnic minority individuals. We are working closely with our NGO partners for service details and will release more information in due course. A resource coordination group, composed primarily of NGOs in Tai Po, is currently in operation. We sincerely urge all companies and organisations to provide timely support for the victims.
