Capacity Building Workshop 2023

To inspire organisations to develop innovative community projects with aligned strategy and mindset, we are organising the following Capacity Building Workshops inviting representatives from HSBC, local charities, and academic advisors to share ideas and insights, please enroll and attend at least one workshop.

The Capacity Building Workshops are now open for enrollment, and refer to details as follows.
(*Limited seats, first come first served. Each of the session covers different themes and welcome to register more than one session if you are interested.)

Theme: Applying innovation concepts in the service with community projects and approaches

1st Session: Panel Discussion: A New Approach to Building Communities – The Importance of Cross-sectoral Co-creation
Content: The three experienced cross-sectoral collaborators share their practical experience in nurturing various community projects. In the sharing, you can know more how to foster cross-sectoral collaboration, respond to the social and community needs, and build an active community through imagination and creativity!
Guest Speakers: Ms Sarah Mui, Co-founder & Design Director of One Bite Design Studio & Ms Vangi Fong, Curator, Director of “The Hill Workshop” & Mr Chan King Cheung, Curator of YWCA Tin Library

Format: Physical sharing panel and group discussion
Quota: 40-50 (Limited and first-come first-serve, each organization/company can send up to 2 representatives to attend the Workshop)

2nd Session: Discover new agenda – Practice Green and Coorperation under sustainable development goals (SDG) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)
Content: Discuss how to apply SDG/ESG thinking to cross-sector cooperation and achieve a sustainable service model

Guest Speakers: Ms Johanna Chan, Director of Ecosystem Innovation at DreamImpact & Ms Benita Chick, CEO and Founder at Encompass HK

Time: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm (registration begins at 12:45 pm, please arrive on time)

Format: Physical workshop and sharing panel with Hybrid mode (Participants on the waiting list can participate in the sharing online)

3rd Session: Discover new agenda – Explore the relationship between Financial Wellness and innovative community service (e.g. for Youth and Families)
Content: Explore the relationship between Social Service and Financial Wellness Education through the sharing of frontline service experience, which helps to map out how to conceive the new forms of services and intergrate resources to meet the needs of beneficaries.

Targets: Representatives of charities registered under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap 112), People and organizations who are in social enterprises, social innovation units, or representatives of related organizations
