Dialogue with Secretary for Labour and Welfare – Mr. Chris Sun

Duration the process of election, the new HKSAR Chief Executive expressed deep concern on various livelihood and welfare problems of the society.  The new administration has been initiating various ideas and programmes to address these livelihood issues, and has also been active in engaging various sectors and stakeholders to deliberate various possibilities in terms of social policy.          The Chief Executive is going to deliver his first Policy Address in October and we expect that some related social issues or problems will be mentioned and policy initiatives may be announced.    In view of this, we have successfully invited Mr. Chris Sun, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, to have a dialogue with our sector after the Policy Address.  We expect to discuss with him issues on poverty alleviation, care for the elderly, assistance to the frail, social welfare planning, subvention system and so on.  We hope that this can foster closer collaboration between the sector and the government for improving welfare services and the livelihood of the people. HKEX Impact Funding Scheme – Online Information Session

The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), in partnership with HKEX Foundation, has set up the HKEX Impact Funding Scheme (the Scheme). The Scheme supports non-subvented local charities to run community projects focusing on the four themes of HKEX Foundation, i.e. Financial Literacy, Diversity and Inclusion, Poverty Relief and Environmental Sustainability, serving a wide spectrum of people in need in our community. In addition, the Scheme also aims to promote the use of technology and innovation to address social and environmental challenges of the society. The Scheme will be open for applications from mid-Nov to mid-Dec 2022. Eligibility Agency member of The Hong Kong Council of Social Service; Charitable organisations registered under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap 112); and  Organisations that do not receive government’s regular subvention (Except the funding for project-based services and services awarded by the way of bidding).
