Are you looking for funding and other kinds of support to commercialise, start, grow or scale your social project?  An intermediary of the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (SIE Fund), Impact Incubator of The Hong Kong Council of Social Service cordially invites all current and potential social innovators and social entrepreneurs to join our next Impact Incubator briefing session. At the session, our team will briefly introduce our new Impact Incubator, key programme features and answer any questions you may have on applying for SIE Fund grant funding, through the Impact Incubator. Nam Cheong 220 is the first project which has adopted Modular Integrated Construction method to build transitional social housing in Hong Kong, with the site provided by Henderson Land Group.  Since then, with the support of the Government, more and more transitional social housings have been gradually completed and spread over Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories.  Nam Cheong 220 as a pilot project, has also found that social housing can enhance the mutual help supports to the neighborhood, connect the larger Sham Shui Po community and assist in the redistribution of community resources.  From 22 October, 2022, “Nam Cheong 220” will be transformed into “Our Housing Diary”.  It records the living condition of the grassroots in social housing and subdivided housing, displays the learnings, insights and impacts from the first social housing - Nam Cheong 220, and invites readers to write down their housing stories in Hong Kong and continue to explore different way out together. “Environment, Social and Governance” (ESG) is a hot topic in recent years and many organizations across industries are focusing more on ESG issues as the key for sustainable development. While NGOs' activities are one of the building blocks of ESG in creating social impacts, the ESG movement presents important opportunities for NGOs in advancing their missions. On one hand, it would be crucial for NGOs to understand how ESG compliance and reporting works for corporates and philanthropic foundations so as to facilitate communication and collaboration with these organisations. On the other hand, NGOs could also take a step forward in integrating ESG in their strategy formulation as well as daily operations. This will enable NGOs to be truly ESG champion to the core. As such, the Council has invited subject matter experts from PwC Hong Kong to speak on ESG compliance and reporting, and how NGOs may explore further their synergy and relationship with corporates and funders through ESG; and how to benefit from embracing ESG inside out.
