[Press Release, June 23, 2026] In response to the ongoing support needs following the Tai Po Fire incident, the HKCSS has maintained close cooperation with Rotary District 3450 and other cross-sector partners to continuously promote community support and resource matching.

To more effectively connect social welfare organizations, Rotary Clubs, businesses, and various stakeholders, and to facilitate the matching of social services and material support, the HKCSS and Rotary District 3450 will soon launch a “Resource and Service Matching” collaboration program. This program specifically addresses the practical needs related to the Tai Po fire, enabling frontline social welfare organizations to more flexibly identify and match necessary support.

For example, organizations can identify and assess residents’ urgent needs, such as seeking support in mental health. Through the matching platform, Rotary Clubs can leverage their extensive networks to find relevant resources, mobilizing professional medical personnel and business partners within their networks to provide assistance. Furthermore, Rotary Clubs will also provide small-amount and in-kind support as needed.

HKCSS expresses its sincere gratitude to Rotary District 3450 for its support, which has enabled the relevant work to proceed step by step. This collaboration not only helps to address immediate needs but also lays the foundation for further cooperation among the social welfare sector, the business community, and the Rotary network in the future.

Ms. Cassy Cheng, District Governor of Rotary District 3450, said, “Rotary District 3450 has always maintained close cooperation with the HKCSS. This project allows both parties to further deepen their partnership, integrating the needs of social welfare organizations and the resources of various Rotary clubs to support residents affected by the fires. We also hope that the project can be expanded to match more social services in the future, generating a greater synergistic effect.”

HKCSS Chief Executive, Hon Chan Man-yee, said, “The HKCSS sincerely thanks the generous contribution of Rotary District 3450. The program has also laid a more systematic foundation for matching social resources. Through the support of Rotary Clubs, HKCSS hopes to more accurately match social welfare organizations with business resources, volunteers, and professional consultants, enhance their capabilities, and assist more people in need.”

The HKCSS will continue to work with all parties to make good use of social resources, promote matching, connect with more support, and bring more tangible help to those in need and organizations.
