DBS Foundation and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service Co-Hosted “Equip Today, Empower Tomorrow” Community Carnival Promoting Digital Health and Financial Literacy to Build Thriving Communities — Over 100,000 Underprivileged Individuals to Benefit Hong Kong, 23 July 2025 – DBS Foundation ("the Foundation") and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service ("HKCSS") embarked on a 3-year strategic partnership in November 2024, aiming to impact over 100,000 elderly individuals and underprivileged families across Hong Kong to improve their livelihood. This collaboration focuses on two community-based programmes designed to address key societal needs: digital health management in an ageing society, and family financial education and communications. “SilverConnect” improves primary healthcare access for the elderly and their caregivers at home and residential care facilities through the development of a tele-practice platform; “Treasure Wealth, Treasure Love” Family Financial Education Programme promotes a holistic approach to financial education, planning, and family communications to strengthen the resilience of low-income families. To promote social participation and enhance public awareness, the "Equip Today, Empower Tomorrow" Community Carnival was jointly organised by the Foundation and HKCSS from 18–19 July 2025 at Lok Fu Place, Kowloon. 社聯攜美心舉行「軟心膳 x 照護食種子餐廳暨社區推動計劃啟動禮」 進一步擴大「吞嚥友善餐廳網絡」 【新聞稿2025年7月22日】香港社會服務聯會(社聯)聯同本地餐飲集團美心集團(美心)舉行「軟心膳 x 照護食種子餐廳暨社區推動計劃啟動禮」。美心早於四月推出專門為吞嚥困難患者研發的軟餐品牌「軟心膳」(第4級),參照社聯《照護食標準指引》製作,符合「國際吞嚥障礙飲食標準 (IDDSI)」,包括按照中式點心製作的點心拼盤,及「香草雞鎚飯」和「瑞士雞翼飯」兩款西式套餐。現場過百位來自社區中心及院舍的長者亦一同品味「軟心膳」及美心皇宮的點心,品嚐「同枱起筷」的快樂。 自今天起,全線美心皇宮及15間指定美心快餐店提供「軟心膳」堂食服務,讓患吞嚥困難人士重拾飲食尊嚴與樂趣。此外,荃灣綠楊坊美心皇宮更加入社聯「照護食種子餐廳計劃」,除了「軟心膳」點心拼盤外,推出五款不同IDDSI等級的照護食菜式。社聯與「美心皇宮」團隊過去進行多次技術交流,依《照護食標準指引》研發出一系列切合吞嚥需求和保留中菜色香味的菜式。當中由社聯安排言語治療師為前線及中層員工提供專業培訓,協助理解吞嚥困難的特徵與照護食設計理念,於工作時更有效與顧客及照顧者溝通。 香港特別行政區商務及經濟發展局局長丘應樺,JP:「在商經局的推動下,商界積極探索銀髮一族的需要和喜好,相繼參考社聯的《照護食標準指引》將現有菜式轉化成軟餐版本,或自主研發,推出「照護食」軟餐的選擇,並籌備一連串推廣活動,將軟餐的概念在社區廣泛宣傳。衷心感謝美心迅速響應政府推動銀髮經濟的政策。除了推出包括中式點心拼盤及西式套餐的軟餐品牌之外,更多走幾步,在社區與不同有心的機構進行宣傳,為長者提供安全且優質的用餐選擇。銀髮經濟市場龐大,消費群體不只本地的老友記,更包括內地、亞洲各地,甚至歐美的年長旅客。發展銀髮經濟不僅關乎本地長者的福祉,更有助吸引長者旅客來港消費和用餐,有利商界拓展顧客群。」 美心集團首席營運官(香港及澳門)蕭德威:「我們非常高興得到煤氣公司及信和集團出資出力,讓我們可以為近200間護老院舍免費提供逾15,000份軟餐,共同推動『軟心膳』的前進。由四月至今,美心已向近20間福利協會及香港耆康老人福利會的護老院舍派發軟餐,並收集了逾數百位患吞嚥困難長者對『軟心膳」的意見。每位受訪長者都十分滿意『軟心膳』的質素,同時希望品嚐到更多點心及應節食品的軟餐款式。所以,美心將短期內推出壽桃及盆菜等軟餐款式,亦積極研發新點心,如腸粉、山竹牛肉及奶皇包等,為患吞嚥困難人士帶來更多色香味及營養價值的美食選擇。」 香港社會服務聯會行政總裁陳文宜:「自2024年起,社聯啟動『照護食種子餐廳計劃』,這個計劃旨在與飲食界的夥伴們攜手合作,在全港各區建立吞嚥友善的餐廳網絡。美心作為本地飲食界的知名品牌,致力於提供優質且多樣化的飲食體驗。『美心皇宮』能夠成為『照護食種子餐廳』計劃的一員,象徵商界在推動共融飲食和關懷弱勢群體的一個重要進展。我們相信,推動照護食,不僅是關懷行動,更是促進銀髮經濟的重要引擎。隨著人口高齡化的趨勢,對長者相關產品和服務的需求日益增長,無論是在飲食、康復、樂齡科技、居家照顧,還是銀髮旅遊等領域,銀髮經濟的潛力無可限量。」 社聯亦計劃於下半年推出《照護食餐廳計劃》、《餐廳指南》及互動地圖平台,讓公眾更容易搜尋相關資訊,進一步擴大照護社區覆蓋。藉此鼓勵更多餐廳採用照護食標準,推廣更多照護食選項。未來社聯將持續與政府、商界、醫護、學術及社福界跨界合作,共同建構可持續、長者友善、共融的照護食生態圈。 下載相片及新聞稿 - 完 - 傳媒查詢: 區可如女士 社聯企業傳訊主任 電話:(852) 2864 2469 電郵:[email protected] ...

PolyU Study Confirms U3A’s Social Impacts Aiming to Support Sustainable Growth of the Silver Economy 【Press Release - June 23, 2025】A recent study commissioned by the University of the 3rd Age (U3A), jointly run by HK Electric and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), has affirmed the programme’s social impacts in enhancing the well-being of local retirees. Details of the findings were released at the “U3A Annual Recognition Ceremony 2024–2025”. Conducted by the Research Centre for Gerontology and Family Studies of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), the study assessed the social impact of U3A on local retirees in three key areas—active ageing, lifelong learning, and life planning, while also gathering their views on cross-border retirement. The survey, conducted through questionnaire, gathered responses from 826 local retirees aged 60 or above, including 326 U3A participants. Among these U3A members, over 95% agreed that U3A activities had positively contributed to their retirement planning (95.10%), enhanced their understanding of gerontechnology (95.70%) and environmental protection (97.20%), and improved their social (98.80%) and communication skills (98.20%). Youth Co:Lab Hong Kong Dialogue Highlights the Urgent Need for Youth Mental Health Solutions and Support Citi Foundation and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) remain steadfast advocates for innovative and collaborative solutions to empower youth Hong Kong – Over 400 youth workers, academic professionals, policy makers and mental health practitioners convened at the Youth Co:Lab Hong Kong Dialogue (HK Dialogue) on May 21 to advance solutions addressing mental health needs of young people. Co-led by Citi Foundation and UNDP, and organized in partnership with the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), the HK Dialogue was held in conjunction with the S+ Summit & Expo that attracted over 13,000 attendees over two days. The dialogue explored key challenges faced by young people with mental issues, examined related policy implications, and highlighted holistic support strategies and best practices.
