Service Development Officer (Social Impact) (1-year Contract, renewable)

[Ref.: HMTPU/SDOSI/24/02]

 

The position is responsible for developing the business network and providing services to clients for impact consultancy services, while also offering support to other team members as required. S/He will liaise with other staff in the Hong Kong Programme unit and other units.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Impact Consultancy Services:

  • Proactively build and maintain a strong network of contacts and partnerships with relevant stakeholders while also cultivating and maintaining relationships with clients to ensure their satisfaction and retention.
  • Understand client needs, requirements, and expectations to tailor service offerings accordingly.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to clients regarding impact consultancy services.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Prepare and submit compelling proposals to prospective clients, highlighting OHK’s expertise and value proposition.
  • Monitor project progress, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Draft or provide support in drafting a final report and communicate the results to clients and stakeholders.

 

Living Wage Campaign:

  • Carry out the campaign, which is not limited to accrediting living wage employers, engaging with corporations, and managing external communications.
  • Monitor the campaign climate, including the ongoing discussions and conversations related to the issue, and develop strategies to influence.
  • Conduct lobby and negotiation meetings with the government, legislators, political parties, companies and related authorities.
  • Undertake other related tasks as requested by Assistant Research and Advocacy Manager

 

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in social science, business administration or related field with minimum 5 years of professional experience in business development or social science research. Candidates with less experience will be considered for Service Development Officer II (Social Impact) position.
  • Strong network in the social service sector and/or business sectors is an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices in social impact assessment is advantageous.
  • Excellent written skills in both Chinese and English.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with poverty-alleviation policies and projects in Hong Kong.
  • Identification with Oxfam’s mission and vision is a must.
