“Hang Seng Future Skills Fund” Concludes Successfully Recognize outstanding projects with special award

The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), in partnership with Hang Seng Bank, set up the Hang Seng Future Skills Fund (the Fund) in 2022. The Fund supported 8 non-subvented local charities to run community projects focusing on the future skills development in three main themes, i.e., Financial Literacy, Climate Change, and Digital Literacy / Inclusion, and other related soft skills in order to enhance beneficiaries’ individual ability to respond to the rapid changing environment. All the granted organisations have completed their 1-year projects with satisfaction. The Fund has set up "Outstanding Project Award" to select two well-performed projects in terms of Project Management and Execution, Social Impact and Impact Sustainability, and Cost-effectiveness. The award prize of HK$50,000 is expected to continue to support the project beneficiaries improve their skills and knowledge, thereby enhancing their competitiveness and be prepared for the future. Seminar of Understanding Sex Discrimination Ordinance to Create Anti-Sexual Harassment Working Environment (30 Jan 2024)

Introduction Cases on sexual harassment appear occasionally across different sectors. Once appeared, the cases pose detrimental consequences to the reputation of the organization. Job candidates might have hesitation on applying job vacancies of the organization. Current colleagues might be panicked by the cases which affects team morale. Colleagues with different genders should entitle a safe and anti-sexual harassment working environment. This will help to attract and retain talents. The importance of preventing sexual harassment can be seen with the Government provides funding to the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) to establish a dedicated Anti-Sexual Harassment Unit in 2020. We have invited Anti-Sexual Harassment Unit of EOC to hold the seminar on Sex Discrimination Ordinance and Anti-Sexual Harassment in order to enhance participants’ understanding of the main concepts of the Ordinance, and to share how NGOs could incorporate good practices of anti-discrimination and -harassment into daily operations so as to create a ...
