Guiding Star Scholarship Award 2020/21 – Invitation for application (for Sub-degree students)

Guiding Star Scholarship Award is sponsored by Drs Richard Charles and Esther Yewpick Lee Charitable Foundation. The scholarship aims to encourage social work students of being perseverance in adversities with aspiration of serving the community and commitment to social work profession, to grant the scholarship for alleviating the financial burden of the students and to support the students in pursuing continuing education and future development. Drs Richard Charles and Esther Yewpick Lee Charitable Foundation has appointed Hong Kong Social Workers Association (HKSWA) to organize the scholarship and co-organize with The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), including the review of applications, selection of awardees and disbursement of scholarship funds. There will be 20 scholarships in 2020/21. Each awarded student will receive a grant of HK$30,000. The awardee will be awarded to participate in Capacity Building Programme. 「NGO Organizational Health Assessment」Course Series

  「NGO Organizational Health Assessment」Course Series 「NGO 機構健康評估」課程系列 Introduction The concept of organizational health is about the ability of an organizational to align, execute and renew so that sustainable performance could be achieved. Inspired by this organizational health concept, which is originally developed by McKinsey and Company, HKCSS and HKU EXCEL3 collaborated and conducted the 2nd pilot project to modify the model to make it more applicable on NGOs sector with positive feedback. To further promote the concept and application in NGO sector, a number of initiatives including a free on-line tool and operational guide, training workshops, and knowledge café are prepared to facilitate self-help of individual organizations.   A series of training workshops will be held in Mar 2021 as follows. An online NGO Organizational Health Assessment Platform (OHA Platform) has been developed by HKCSS Institute and is open for use by Agency Members after joining the 1st and 2nd Session.   Course Details Course ...
