Community CareAge Foundation – Protecting Every Step!
|
We recently visited the CareAge Health Centre in Sham Shui Po, operated by the Community CareAge Foundation Limited (CCAF), to conduct a project visit. Supported by the HSBC Hong Kong Community Partnership Programme, the “CareAge Fall Prevention Program” aims to proactively identify older adults in the community who are at high risk of falling. The core of the project is to provide early assessments through volunteer specialist doctors, along with professional fall prevention advice, community education, and follow-up training and support services.
In-home accidents caused by clutter, such as trips and falls, are among the most common injuries among the elderly. To address this, CCAF often arranges for volunteers to help with simple decluttering during home visits. However, since many of these volunteers are also older adults, they may not be able to provide comprehensive assistance. Therefore, the organisation is currently seeking to partner with community groups that can offer professional home organisation and decluttering services to older adults. This includes providing at-home support to help them tidying and cleaning, as well as teaching storage and organisation techniques to improve their living environment.

Link 20th Anniversary Outstanding Student Scholarship
|
Solutions Hub collaborates with various sectors to actively promote multiple youth development and empowerment programmes. These initiatives target youths from secondary school all the way through to those transitioning into the workforce, creating diverse growth opportunities in academic and career exploration.
For example, this year’s “Link 20th Anniversary Outstanding Student Scholarship” not only recognises 100 secondary school students, but also organised two workshops during the application process to teach them skills in communication, public speaking, and Design Thinking. The top 30 students even presented their ideas on Active Ageing during the interview day, demonstrating their care and understanding of diverse community members, and allowing others to see their thoughts and creativity.

Family Financial Education Programme”

“Talking about money can harm relationships.” leads many people to avoid discussing their financial situations. However, financial management is closely linked to daily life.
DBS Foundation and HKCSS embarked on a 3-year strategic partnership. “Treasure Wealth, Treasure Love” Family Financial Education Programme has been launched under this collaboration. Through a series of financial education activities, the programme aims to enhance families’ financial literacy and help them learn to communicate more effectively. This way, financial discussions can serve as a bridge to strengthen family relationships and improve resilience in facing various challenges. With the support of Community Partners and DBS volunteers, the programme has served over 5,000 individuals.
District-based Financial Literacy Public Education Campaign will be rolled out across Hong Kong, the next session will be held from 26 – 28 September in Yue Man Square, Kwun Tong. We look forward to your participation!
