Caritas – Hong Kong is a Catholic charitable agency which provides, among others, multi-service social welfare/ services to needy people of Hong Kong.
We are seeking a dynamic, hands‑on, and mission‑aligned Senior Accounting Officer to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative NGO environment and is passionate about elevating reporting standards across hospitality related, education and social services.
Finance Office
Senior Accounting Officer II – Financial Reporting
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to Assistant Finance Manager (AFM), the successful candidate is expected to perform the following duties:

- Financial Reporting, System and Controls:

- Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing, ensuring compliance with HKICPA Accounting Standards and NGO reporting requirements;
- Use ERP system or other digital tools to manage reporting workflows, validate data, and enhance process efficiency; and
- Strengthen internal controls by ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and audit‑ready processes and support annual audit and inspection from the regulatory bodies.

- Team Supervision:

- Lead and supervise a team of 2-3 accountants, providing coaching and performance oversight with clear accountability; and
- Monitor reporting quality to continuously improve timeliness, accuracy, and consistency.

- Cross Functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with service units on reporting, and operational support;
- Communicate effectively with funders, programme teams, and internal stakeholders;
- Partner with other finance functions to streamline processes and improve financial governance;
- Support system enhancements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives; and
- Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture.

- Ad hoc Assignments: Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor and Controller.
Requirements:

- University graduates in Business and/or Accounting (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of relevant working experience in commercial, government and/or non-government organization, including at least 1-year supervisory experience;
- Hands-on experience in education/social service sectors, property or hotel management, including preparation of management reports, revenue reconciliation and cost control analysis is an advantage;
- Relevant experience in supporting ERP system implementation, process improvement and deployment of digital tools for receipt processes is highly preferred;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems (such as Oracle or Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne) and system-based reporting will be an asset;
- Solid understanding in financial reporting controls, documentation standards, and compliance requirements; and
- Meticulous attention to details, collaborative and solution-oriented working style.
Salary:
$23,000 – $28,000 (to commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.)
