【Press release on 2 November 2022】The sixth Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) co-hosted by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), and co-organised by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), starts today and continues through 5 November at Hall 1A-C of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre with free admission. The Expo showcases gerontechnology products, services and solutions around the world, and is complemented by a forum and series of special activities to enhance the public's understanding of gerontechnology. Visitors will experience how smart living shaped by innovation and technology can be implemented for ageing in place and home rehabilitation, promoting the health and well-being of the elderly, persons with disabilities and carers. The Fifth “Gerontech and Innovation Expo Cum Summit” Exhibits 600 Gerontech Products and Solutions 4-Day Expo at HKCEC (Free Admission)   【Press release on 3 November 2021】The fifth Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES), co-hosted by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, and co-organised by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), showcases innovative technology products and solutions, provides a collaborative platform for all stakeholders which jointly foster the improvement of policies and the development of Hong Kong society, and responds to the challenges and opportunities brought about by the ageing population.  The exhibition is held from 3-6 November 2021 at Hall 1A-C of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and is open to the public for free. 「民以食為天」、「食得是福」都是華人社會經常掛在嘴邊的說話，反映我們對飲食的重視、對飲食的追求。 然而，銀髮族因身體機能退化，咀嚼功能下降，很多時都只可進食煮至稀爛的糊狀食物，以免進食時噎到。但這些食物往往食之無味、且賣相不討好，反而令長者失去食慾，吃少了身體機能反而倒退。 其實「糊仔」絕非唯一選擇，近年業界積極推動軟餐(照護食)發展，讓吞嚥/咀嚼障礙人士重拾口福、保持生活質素。社聯其中一項非常重要的工作是夥伴香港中文大學食品研究中心及香港大學教育學院吞嚥研究所，合作建立一套統一標準，並就照護食的軟硬及黏稠度、食用者生理狀況、烹調範例等範疇，制訂等級分類，以協助行業生態發展。 這項計劃的初步成果將於下周四起一連四日的第四屆「樂齡科技博覽暨高峰會」中發表，展覽館同時特設「樂齡亞洲美食」主題館，以「味蕾之旅，由心出發」為題，帶觀眾探索各種不同方式烹調的亞洲照護美食，同時認識協助推動照護食的各界參展商、以至本地初創公司及社企。 除此之外，今年博覽會因應疫情所帶來的新常態，設有「社會服務新領域」主題館，介紹五個遠程服務範疇，了解科技如何協助同工以更便捷及靈活的方式，支援服務使用者，並讓業界探索相關樂齡科技的應用，發揮服務創新。 以上提到的樂齡科技貼地而實用，但應用範圍又豈止那麼少呢？博覽會還有兩大特色主題館，留待下星期再跟大家分享。 「樂齡科技博覽暨高峰會」 11月19日至22日 香港會議展覽中心 https://gies.hk/ 文章刊於2020年11月12日《AM730–蔡海偉網誌》 ...
