內容簡介 Brief Introduction :

本報告比較了少數族裔和華裔家長在子女升學事宜上的知識和參與程度，亦嘗試探討香港各種社會、經濟及文化因素怎樣正面或負面地影響着他們的參與，因而對子女升學的機會產生不同程度影響。

這調查收集了有子女就讀小學四至六年級的少數族裔和華裔家長的數據，從中分析出策略、方法及服務不足的地方，希望有助少數族裔家長在子女升學事宜上有更多正面的參與，共同建設一個種族平等及和諧的社會。

This report compares the level of knowledge and the involvement of the ethnic minority parents and the Chinese parents' involvement in their children's education.  It examines how their involvements are enabled or constrained by different social, economic and cultural factors and how their different involvements affect the educational advancement of their children in different ways. 

By conducting a study on the ethnic minority parents and the Chinese parents with children studying at the levels of primary 4 to primary 6, strategies, methods, and service gaps are identified for better involvement of the ethnic minority parents to reduce the educational advancement gap against the ethnic minority children, creating a racially equal and harmonious Hong Kong society.
