THE TUYF CHARITABLE TRUST
Invitation for Application for Scholarship or Grant
– Academic
Year 2012/13
The purpose of the Scholarship and the Grant is to nurture future leaders and enhance governance of welfare NGOs. The Scholarship supports individuals who wish to pursue a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Non-Government Organization (“NGO”) governance or related areas, whereas the Grant supports individuals who wish to undertake a short course relating to NGO governance or related area overseas. Details are as follows:
Scholarship for NGO governance

For full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree course overseas.

A maximum of 2 scholarships each year, each scholarship shall cover tuition fees, field placement expenses, housing, living expenses and travel costs.

Individuals who have permanent resident status in Hong Kong and at least one year of work experience in NGOs in HK, OR fresh graduates who possess NGO work experience in HK prior to pursuing their degree are eligible to apply.

Applicants with over 3 years of work experience in a management / leadership position in Hong Kong NGOs in lieu of the academic qualifications mentioned above will also be considered.

Grant for NGO governance (the “Grant”)
- For short course overseas. (suggestions)
- A maximum of 4 grants each year, each scholarship shall cover tuition fees, accommodation, living expenses and travel costs.
- Individuals who have permanent resident status in Hong Kong, with an undergraduate / postgraduate degree in social studies / relevant subjects and at least one year of work experience in NGOs in HK OR fresh graduates who have possessed NGO work experience in HK prior to pursuing their degree are eligible to apply.
- Applicants with over 3 years of work experience in a management / leadership position in Hong Kong NGOs in lieu of the academic qualifications mentioned above will also be considered.

Late, incomplete or improperly completed applications will not be considered.
