- To provide participants with a step-by-step approach in managing suicide crisis situations presented by clients who are depressed and suicidal

- To equip participants with the knowledge in case conceptualization and the micro-skills in implementing effective treatment approaches to help clients with depressed mood

Contents
Day 1
- A comprehensive assessment of depression including symptoms of depression and questioning techniques to distinguish depression from other conditions that “look like” depression
- Interventions on managing suicide crisis
Day 2
- Overview of various treatment approaches for depression with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Conceptualization of real life cases using CBT
- Micro-skills on implementing CBT
- Case Practice in implementing crisis management and CBT for depressed clients

Clinical Psychologist
The Tsung Tsin Mission of Hong Kong Social Service Company Ltd.
Ms Tong received her training in clinical psychology and has extensive experience in working with clients who are depressed and suicidal. She also teaches counseling and supervises students in practicum training. Ms. Tong is an Associate Fellow of the Hong Kong Psychological Society (HKPS) and the American Psychological Association (APA) as well as a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). |
