Invitation to join “WeDesign - Young Designer Community Partnership Program 2018”

Poverty – News      2018/04/06

The Council is going to organize “WeDesign - Young Designer Community Partnership Program 2018”. Sponsored by Citi Foundation, this program aims to gather social resources from different sectors, and nurture young designers and grassroots families to create a participatory community and explore and design an ideal living space by utilizing their talents.

Through two phases of the program (May to June 2018 and June to October 2018), 100 youth interested in or are studying programs or vocational training programs related to architecture, design or social work (mainly targets at sub-degree students) will first be recruited to receive social design training taught by professional designers and architects. Subsequent to the 1st phase, 40 of them will participate in Community Internship with the guidance and assistance of mentors from the NGOs and the designer mentors. They will co-design and produce furniture and public space facilities to enhance living spaces for 32 grassroots families and 2 public spaces in different districts.

The program is now recruiting NGOs to be the partner organizations for the Community Internship (2nd Phase). 4 NGOs will be recruited for the “Residence of Grassroots Families and Flexible Design of Furniture” while 2 NGOs will be recruited for the “Public Space Design and Community Participation” .  For details, please refer to Program Details.
