“Evidence-based Practice Social Work Research Salon”: EM’s Most Concerned Issues and Voting Behavior

Ethnic Minorities – Seminar      2017/12/07

Are the voices of the ethnic minorities (EM) adequately heard by candidates during elections in Hong Kong? Are voters denied equal opportunities to participate in elections due to their ethnicity, language or cultural backgrounds?

The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) and Hong Kong Christian Service (HKCS) conducted the survey ‘Ethnic Minority’s Most Concerned Issues and Voting Behavior’ before the Legislative Council (LegCo) Election in September, 2016. Questionnaires were collected to find out the most concerned issues, the voter’s registration and voting behavior among EM respondents.

In this research salon, workers from HKCS and our Council are going to share the design of the captioned research and, the implications on policy recommendations with the findings. Details of the salon are as follows:
