Corporate Focus One: Celebrate and Promote Partnership of the Welfare Sector

  1. Caring Company Recognition Ceremony cum Launching of 60th Anniversary Celebration by Dr. York Chow with Past Chairpersons and Director of HKCSS (Feb 8, 2007)
  • Celebrate and promote the welfare-business partnership
  • Announce the theme and key events of the 60th Anniversary
  • Highlight the 60 years of welfare service development and milestone achievement of the Council
  1. 60th Anniversary Community Dinner - "Salute to our Partners" cum 2007 Best Practice Awards in Social Welfare Prize Presentation Ceremony (17 Dec 2007)
  • Festive event to give recognition and appreciation to the long-serving as well as cross-professional and funding partners of the welfare sector, including the Government, and to reinforce the ¡§WE¡¨ feeling
  • An occasion to salute best practices in social welfare

Corporate Focus Two: Promote Welfare Sector and NGOs Contribution

Goals
  1. Selection and Promotion of the Top 10 Welfare Contributions to Better Livelihood since 1997 (Jun 2007)
  • To highlight the contributions of the Welfare Sector to the community throughout the years
  • To facilitate involvement of the Sector in consolidating and reflecting on our collective achievements in promoting the social well being of the community in the past ten years
  1. Local Conference on the role and contribution of the NGO sector in Social Welfare and Social Development: The Conference will invite international experts to introduce major trends of social welfare development across the world, and examine the roles of NGOs and the Government in future development of social welfare in Hong Kong (Oct 2007)
  • To offer an exchange forum for the Sector on the development experience of the NGO sector, the partnership with Government, the Community and other sectors and to discuss core issues and strategies, such as governance, accountability and resources, which will shape the sector's future development
  1. The 60th Anniversary Book ¡V 60 Years' Countless Efforts: Development Process of Social Services in Hong Kong and the Road Ahead (Early 2008)
  • To review the historical development and conduct a socio-analytical study of the development of the NGO sector in Hong Kong, to give insight and to provoke in-depth discussion among NGOs on the new development strategy of the social services under the new politics and economy
  • To provide reference and sharing with the Mainland counterparts on Hong Kong's experience in enhancing socio-economic development through social services
