Training workshop on Facilitating Community Building: Practical experience and discussion in TW & HK
長者 – 研討會、講座      2017/09/11

More and more social service agencies try to mobilize internal and external resources (including the participation of professional bodies) to enhance living in the community. These collaborations not only respond to the urging needs facing by the residents, but also contribute to better resilience of the community in long term.

In Taiwan, many “community building” programs start since the 1990s’. Different community collaborative decision making models have been promoted along with the development, for example, training and set up of “community planners” teams and implementation of “participatory budgeting” at district-level.

To enhance the understanding of the community building experience in Taiwan, the Council will conduct a training workshop “Community Building: Practical experience and discussion in Taiwan & Hong Kong” on September 11, 2017 (Monday). We have invited Mr. Yang Chi-Bin of National Association for the Promotion of Community Universities from Taiwan and other local speakers to share and exchange ideas based on Taiwan and local experience.

Details of the workshop are as follows:
Facilitating Community Building (1): Practical experience and discussion in Taiwan & Hong Kong
